District Standards Educate all San Antonio ISD students on:
State Standards TheTechnology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) found in 19 TAC Chapter 126describe what students in K-12 should be able to do using technology in and out of the classroom. The TEKS are to be used when providing instruction in Technology Applications as well as in other curriculum areas (when applicable). The goal of Technology Application TEKS is for students to gain technology-based knowledge and skills and to be able to apply those skills to all other curriculum areas. These TEKS are organized by grade groupings: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. There are benchmarks at grade levels 2, 5, and 8. Within each grade grouping, there are four common strands:Foundations, Information Acquisition, Work in Solving Problems, and Communication.
National Standards National Educational Technology Standards(NETS-T)and Performance Indicators for Teachers Innovative and effective teachers in technology model and apply the National Educational Technology Standards for Students(NETS-S)as they create, implement, and assess multiple learning experiences to engage students in the learning process; enrich thier professional practices; improve student learning; and provide models for students, colleagues, and the community. All educators in San Antonio ISD should adhere to theNETS-S/NETS-Tstandards and performance indicators for thier prespective grade levels.
CIPA Compliance The Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) is a federal law enacted by Congress to address concerns about access to offensive content over the Internet on school and library computers. CIPA imposes certain types of requirements on any school or library that receives funding for Internet access or internal connections from the E-rate program – a program that makes certain communications technology more affordable for eligible schools and libraries.

All Campus Technology Representatives (CTRs) will present the District's digital citizenship website which includes lessons, activities, videos, parent resources, and online safety tips to educators.
August 23 - December 17
All San Antonio ISD students will be provided two lessons on digital safety and email with the use of CyberSmart curriculum and resources on the District's digital citizenship website.
August 23 - December 17
All educators, to include district staff, teachers, CICs, and administrators, in San Antonio ISD will view a lesson on digital safety and email use complete with questions online. This course is available 100% online through ePath.

All principals in San Antonio ISD will be responsible for submitting a Cyber Safety Certification form indicating the completion of two digital safety lessons.

Curriculum
CyberSmart!is a free web-based curriculum that has up to 80 cyber safety lesson plans and student activity sheets. Lesson plans utilized by CyberSmart correlate with the National Educational Technology Standards(NETS-T)as well as the state and district standards. CyberSmart curriculum focuses on fostering 21st century skills for students and are considered experts in cyber safety by varioussupporters and partners. CyberSmart is divided into five units in which they teach multiple facets of appropriate Internet use. The five units are:
